MANUEL-TURIZO

Manuel Turizo (full name Manuel Turizo Zapata) is an urbano and reggaeton singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Colombia whose trademark is his smooth buttery tenor singing voice. The singer has made significant inroads towards Latin pop. In 2017, his 2016 hit Una Lady Como Tu won the Colombian Kids Choice Award Favorite Song. The album he released as his debut ADN was issued in 2017 by La Industria Inc., a Medellin-based Sony distribution company. The album climbed to number 8 within the Top Latin Albums Chart. Following that year, he collaborated with Ozuna to create Vaina Loca which climbed to the top of five on the Top Latin Albums chart. He dropped Dopamina the chart-topping sophomore album in the year following. In 2021, he also performed the duet for TINI's smash streaming track Maldita Foto. The hit song La Bachata from 2000 was released in 2023. Turizo comes from an musical family, as both his parents and brother also play music. In interviews he has described participating in music as compulsory. As a child, he studied the guitar as well as the saxophone. The first choice for his career was to be a vet, but his brother Julian convinced him to study singing with a Cuban teacher. What happened was that he found his talents for singing, and the result transformed his career path.
